I remember this turmoil so vividly. We never though gas prices would ever go back to normal, and envisioned it even going well beyond $10. Thankfully, the price of gas per barrel dropped(or whatever the hell happened), or we might be paying $15+ dollars by now. I guess you could say that is one thing bush did right, even if he didn't really do anything directly to effect it.

rumor is the russians found and are building a oil pump. the oil they found is the same size of middle easts oil field. the russians field is massive ,and the middle east knows about this construction.so they are taking while there taking is good. once russian open up. the price will fall just as fast as it got high

Yes Americans?? WE have to fix this problem ourselves! Use cotton made reusable bags for you're groceries. Plastic is made from oil. Lets use more glass bottles. They are made from sand. We have plenty of that. Glass is reusable. Watch you're prices at the grocery store. Ride bikes. Walk. Ride mopeds. The time is now. We have to do this!!

why I switched to bus commuting instead of driving saves buttloads of money everyday fare prices will ALWAYS be cheaper than gas prices thank God. I really don't care public transit is constantly overcrowded and stuff......it's well worth it

Well a Yaris diesel here does 63mpg on average-my older brother has one-so I guess it does 63mpg in Canada as well. And as for not driving 'lil cars' with the price of oil stedy at $100 + a barrel, and with Hubbards Peak fast approaching, you'll all have to start switching, or use the bus. :-)

well.. more compact cars? heh.. we dont have lil cars here or not yet.. i heard in canada they made some electric ones.. but they are illegal in canada oddly..i guess cause they dont have a problem with gas.

Depends what you are comparing like with like with. A Porche does as many mpg here in England as it does in...California. BTW petrol and diesel at my6 local BP garage has gone up again, it's now £1.06 a liter for petrol and £.1.11 for diesel, which works out around £5 a gallon or $10 a gallon more or less.

i heard you get more miles for your money though... in the US they didn't bother with fuel economy much at all... darn greedy gas people

Public transport here in Britain is shite, and fare levels are disgusting, I hardly ever use the bus, and can't even remember the last time I went on a train. And 97% of our manufactured goods and raw materials are transported by road.

Great video. It's funny - most people buy cheaper houses that are 30 miles away from work, but spend what they "save" - on gas & wear/tear on their cars.

at least you guys have some form of functional public transportation.. here in the U.S. were still in the stone age w/ regards to avail/functionality of public transpo...were so behind in that respect.. and people are still thinking cars[hybrids/hydrogen/etc] as the solution ha ha....cars are so obsolete!! the freeway is not even moving now!!

Don't drive!!! Telecommute, order goods via 'Amazon', and stay indoors and have wild lustful sex, instead of going on vacations!!!

These 'lovely cars' can't handle tricky things like corners.

Us British are paying $9 a gallon now, and today the price of petrol went up again. A liter of Petrol in now £1.02, and a liter of Diesel is now £1.07, and that is only at the supermarket pumps. At BP garages it's even higher.

Screw Americans and drivers! They have been pampered WAY TOO LONG! Stop the vacations and driving big vehicles! Take the bus, or walk, or bike. But that's too hard, so pay up the ass and shut up about it. No matter what the gas prices are, Americans want to drive. Nothing will change. Period.

...and the gas tax should be $3/gallon. That money will go to investments supporting non automotive transport such as bicycling, railways, and subways.

How much was gas when the inept criminal elitist Bush entered office?? Bush is the WORST PREZ EVER! Rednecks and yahoos voted him in, not educated, knowledgeable Americans, of which there are fewer and fewer these days!
